Back in the day, we had things like Speak & Spell and Speak & Math, courtesy of Texas Instruments. There was nothing more satisfying than learning how to spell “chrysanthemum” or how to multiply 53×6 in a creepy, robotic voice, quite reminiscent of the Family Guy version of Stephen Hawking’s voice. These days, kids have some serious high tech toys at their disposal – you’ll find some version of a LeapFrog learning toy on every toy blog and review site you can imagine, and with good reason. These are perfect for giving your preschoolers and kindergartners a head start in learning how to read, write, add, and subtract.
